Pins, navigation, and presentations

As your notes grow, navigation and review become more useful. Pins save locations, page navigation helps you browse paged material, and PPT views arrange canvas areas into a presentation sequence.

Pins: save important locations

Add a pin from the canvas's content menu and give it a recognizable name, icon, and color. You can mark your current location with "Needs clarification", "Key Conclusion" or chapter name, and you can choose whether to display the name on the canvas.

Select an item from the pin list to return to the corresponding location. When you have many pins, you can group, sort, or search by name. In Infinite and Vertical documents, you can also set the positioning method and scaling ratio after the jump, so that the focus reappears at a suitable size.

Pins are suitable for saving places that need to be reviewed again and again, such as an unfinished question, an important chart, or a paragraph of ideas waiting to be supplemented.

Step-by-step guides:

Page navigation: find a page in your material

Paginated material can be accessed via thumbnails, page numbers, outlines and search. Browse the thumbnails when you want to see the whole thing, jump directly when you know the page number, and use search when you want to find specific content.

For page management and reading methods, see Paged notes and PDFs.

Step-by-step guides:

Links: jump from index to material

Use document links to index courses or projects; when referencing a page in a handout, copy the page link; when simply returning to a figure or an important area, use an object or pin location link. Put the target link into the text or attach it to the canvas object to access relevant information from the note.

When internal navigation history is available, use Back and Forward in the navigation bar to revisit locations. Closing the bar hides it and clears that history for the current window. To share content with someone else, you still need to give them the document or an exported file.

Step-by-step guides:

Tape: hide answers and test your recall

Select the Tape Tool from Pen Boxes and place tape on the content that needs to be temporarily hidden. When reviewing, try to recall the answers first, and then tap the tape to switch between hiding and revealing the content; you can also adjust the display status uniformly through the tape settings.

Tape is used to obscure content and pins are used to remember locations. The two can work together: cover the answers to practice, and leave marks where you still have questions.

Step-by-step guides:

Artboards: Organize and share by area

Insert an artboard into the boundless canvas and arrange related content in the same area. View and position artboards through the artboard list, adjust the order as needed, and export artboards to PDF or print.

For example, use one artboard for questions, another for analysis, and another for summarizing conclusions. Keeping areas clear when recording makes it easier to select the parts you need when sharing.

Step-by-step guides:

PPT views: present a path through your canvas

Move and zoom the canvas to the area you want to display, and then add a PPT view. It saves the current viewing position and range; you can then select views from the list, or display them sequentially by switching back and forth.

Views can be renamed, replaced and reordered, and can be exported as images or PDFs for printing. The "PPT view" here is the presentation perspective of the canvas, which is shared using pictures or PDF formats, not the PowerPoint file editor.

When preparing for an explanation, you can save the four views of "panorama, questions, analysis, and conclusion" in sequence. Move from the whole to the details, and finally back to the conclusion, making it easier for the audience to follow.

When explaining, you can also use the laser pointer in Pen Boxes to indicate key points through temporary pointer trails. When you need to show it to others, you can use the external screen presentation function.

To organize the explanation content, please refer to Tables, mind maps, and connectors; for sharing methods, please refer to Import, Export and Sharing.
