This page records changes to the user guide. For app release notes, refer to Prodrafts and its App Store listing.

October 29, 2026

Updated Perfect Shape with its fifteen supported shape types, adjustment before lifting the pen, control-point editing, lasso selection, nearby snapping, and three advanced options.
Added a playable three-second overview video in the help center’s black rounded device frame.
Corrected the settings paths for automatic selection and Auto Fill Color, clarified that Perfect Shape is available to all users, and updated the related pen box, lasso, drawing, and feature overview pages.
Added Automatic Backup to cloud storage or NAS, with text and SF Symbols covering setup, provider and location, frequency, name exclusions, status, retrying, and restoring a new copy.
Explained how one-way backup differs from iCloud sync and manual ZIP backups, including overwriting a file with the same name at the same path, retaining remote files after local deletion, and background operation requirements.
Added links in the sync and backup overview, feature overview, and help center home page, and updated the Export Backup label in the manual backup guide.

Updated Keyboard shortcuts with current defaults grouped by File, Edit, Tools, Insert, Format and Arrange, and View.
Explained how 1–9 follows the order of all pen box tools, how H differs from holding Space to pan, and how T prepares text for placement with a click.
Clarified adding child and sibling mind map nodes while selected or editing, along with the behavior of Return, text composition, and other input fields.
Updated the pen box, text box, mind map, and canvas navigation guides, and added a keyboard-shortcut link on the help center home page.
Standardized unfinished illustration placeholders as “Illustration in progress”. Written instructions remain available while images are prepared.
Expanded Document and location links with page references, object navigation, back and forward, per-window history, and cross-device requirements. Updated the related object, text, pin, and paged-navigation guides.

Added steps for enabling and disabling Eye Comfort mode and explained its appearance in paged notes and PDFs.
Added Eye Comfort links on the guide home page and feature overview.
Added instructions and keyboard shortcuts for entering and leaving immersive mode, with links from the home page, feature overview, and PDF guide.
Added realistic paper-background setup for infinite and vertical documents, including returning to a solid color and setting defaults for new canvases, with links to the guide.

Tutorial revisions:

Corrected actions, limits, and results in 22 guides, including ruler marks, the compass, connectors, tables, artboards, page deletion, and text lists.
Distinguished the iPhone/iPad share sheet from the Mac save dialog, and clarified that folder export excludes documents in the trash.
Added Markdown file requirements, GIF playback settings, and the preservation of originals when splitting PDFs. Updated the corresponding illustration placeholders.
Detailed guides remained drafts, with device checks and final illustrations still to be verified.

The first detailed guide drafts were also added that day:

Added the full navigation structure for getting started, document management, handwriting, shapes and geometry, text and information organization, assets and recordings, navigation and review, canvases and pages, text documents, presentation and export, sync and backup, and settings and help.
Added 129 detailed guide drafts covering steps, scope, results, and common questions.
Added illustration placeholders, IDs, and production notes for consistent screenshots and annotations.
Kept existing topic overviews and links, and added links to detailed guides. Canvas and text-document tools are explained separately.
Completed the written drafts and website integration. Image production, per-article device verification, and release checks remained for later work.

Earlier organization that day:

Added feature categories for handwriting, drawing, editing, reading, organizing, and review.
Added sections for handwriting and pen boxes; drawing and editing; tables, mind maps, and connectors; and pins, navigation, and presentations.
Expanded coverage of PDFs, assets, text layout, and library management, and corrected sync and backup explanations.
Organized reading around Getting Started, Feature Guides, and Help and Updates.
Added Meet Prodrafts and Create Your First Note.
Added section overviews distinguishing paged notes, infinite canvases, and text documents.
Added navigation, site search, and related reading links.

Future entries will record new illustrations, verified operations, and revisions for feature changes.
